Alternative fuels for vehicles is now commonplace with equipment available for most makes and models—listed below are some of the vehicle models using the DuoFuel fuel substitution system.

 

Mitsubishi Pajero

With an LPG tank mounted in the emergency seat well this was one of the first 4WD vehicles to be set up with the fuel substitution system. The Pajero with its 3.2L engine has traveled over 100,000km.

Toyota Prado

The 2003 Prado had a single LPG tank mounted rear of the rear axle. The gas filler is located inside the existing fuel flap. A minor modification is made to allow the existing fuel gauge to read the LPG tank contents.

Hummer

The Hummer has been set up to operate on CNG with diesel. It uses a carbon fibre tank to save weight and operates with significantly increased torque.

Toyota Hilux

The Hilux has its tank mounted under the tray with the spare wheel relocated inside the tray. The gas filler is located inside the existing diesel flap.

Toyota Fortuner

This vehicle, based on the Hilux, is popular in Thailand. The 3.0L 1KD diesel responds well to the DuoFuel fuel system with significant increases in mid-range torque and power.
